Edward Armstrong, PharmD
Professor
Edward P. Armstrong is a professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science and an investigator with the VIPER Institute in the College of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists. Armstrong also served as a visiting professor for Kobe-Gakuin University in Japan and has consulted with health systems in Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia.
Armstrong has written numerous articles and delivered many presentations on medication use in clinical practice, cost-effectiveness analysis, and evidentiary literature analysis of medication use. His specific research interests focus upon managed care database evaluations and disease state modeling involving Crohn’s disease, stroke prophylaxis in atrial fibrillation, asthma, depression, heart failure, dyslipidemias, prostate disease, hepatitis C, infectious diseases, diabetes mellitus, epilepsy, community acquired pneumonia and hypertension.
