    Event Description: 

    KEYS Internship program is a 7-week hands-on experience for motivated high school students with an interest in bioscience, engineering, environmental health, or biostatistics. The internship will run from June 1 to July 17.

    The first week of the program includes laboratory training of techniques and safety. Then, under the guidance of UA faculty and other laboratory member, interns will participate in research projects. At the end of the program, KEYS interns will present their research at a research showcase as well as to their friends and family.

    Environmental Bootcamp Summer 2015

    Event Description: 

    Environmental Bootcamp is an on-campus summer experience for high school students to learn about local environmental health problems and to explore STEM careers. Campers will conduct experiments, hear from faculty members and go on field trips. 

    Are you passionate about the outdoors and the environment? Do you want to make a difference in your community? Are you ready to reimagine your relationship with the environment? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this camp is for you! 

    Explore the interconnection between human behavior and our natural environment. Participate in a variety of laboratory activities and field experiences that include: 

    • Hands-on experiences including laboratory experiments
    • Field trips
    • Seminars by professionals in various areas of environmental sciences
    • Tours of environmental research laboratories
    • Investigation of environmental helath issues that affect our community

    Targeted audience: Students entering grades 9-12

    Camp hours: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

    Cost includes all activities and t-shirt. Campers will bring their own lunch.
